The rising costs of college, has forced many student veterans to take out loans in order to earn a degree. However, there is little information

regarding the impact of these loans on student veterans. A Ford Foundation grant enabled Leave No Veteran Behind (LNVB) to partner with Student Veterans of America (SVA) to explore how college debt affects student

Veterans’ lives. The goal is to develop a narrative of the burden

college debt places on these veterans, including those who

have already completed their education. Upon the completion

of the study LNVB will work with our partners to publish specific policy

recommendations addressing the issue of veteran student loans systemically for all veterans affected.
